(frontside). In Greek mythology, Iris s the personification of the rainbow and messenger of the
gods. Iris links the gods to humanity. She travels with the speed of wind from one end
of the world to the other,and into the depths of the sea and the underworld.
Goddess of sea and sky, she is also represented as supplying the clouds with the
water needed to deluge the world, consistent with her identification with the rainbow.
Iris is associated with communication, messages, the rainbow and new endeavors.
I made this totem amulet with polymer clay. I hand painted it with iridescent and
shimmering powders and added stones in the colors of the Chakra. Amethyst, Lapis,
Turquoise, Peridot, Citrine, Carnelian, and Garnet. Each stone represents a part of
Violet (Amethyst stone) = Crown - Personal identification with Infinite. Oneness with
God. Peace. Wisdom
Indigo (Lapis stone) = Third Eye - Clearing subconscious to channel intuition.
Balanced state of mind. See divine perfection in all things. Devotion.
Blue (Turquoise stone) = Throat - Ability to verbalize. Expressing truth through
power of the spoken word.
Green (Peridot stone) = Heart - Release emotionally suppressed trauma. Soul/Heart
consciousness. Expressing love in action.
Yellow (Citrine stone) = Solar Plexus - Assimilation experience. Digestion. Positive
use of personal power. Manifest goals.
Orange (Carnelian stone) = Sacral - Utilization of creative forces into all aspects of
being. High soul procreation. Direct self toward devotion.
Red (Garnet stone) = Base - Ground spirit forces in body. Gain ability to work
lovingly on the physical plane.
I hand made the pendant and embellished with the gemstones listed above. The clay
is bronze with rainbow accents. The finished piece was then given a clear coat to seal
in the powders. The backside is backed with deer skin leather and a beautiful
hand-burned design adorns the leather. I burned in a beautiful spiral flower in the
center, two leaves on the arms, a spiral on the head, a heart and crescent moon at
the bottom point.
Totem amulet measures 4 and 3/8 inches tall from top to bottom point, or 110
