Collage - 6th Chakra by andromeda Collage - 6th Chakra by andromeda
So I just started messing around with collages, you know like the kind we did back in elementary school. Except, this time I am a bit more focused, haha.

So the idea behind my first few collages were from a guided meditation of the 7 Chakras. (which is on youtube). I did a separate meditation for each Chakra, this one is the 6th Chakra, or 3rd Eye Chakra. In the guided meditation a spirit guide, animal or human or whatever, comes bearing a gift and a message.

In my meditation there were purple skies that looked like waves on the ocean, with a hanging moon and glittering stars. There were gorgeous natural arches of stone. There was a raven flying in the night sky (yes I am aware that it is a seagull in my collage, that was to represent the sky looking like the ocean, I have yet to find the right raven to add to it, but when I find it, I will add it to my collage). My guide was an Indian girl, she had beautiful henna designs on her hands, and a bindi on her forehead, she had a beautiful red, flowing sarong and she had traveled the world. She was dancing beautifully in the night, on the sand, with her bare feet. There was the smell of campfire and cinnamon and sage in the air. Her gift to me was a golden bell. She brought for me the acceptance into the "world" tribe of helpers and healers. She left the message that I need to start helping people more, knowing them for who they really are, not just outside appearances. And the remembrance that we are all brothers and sisters, children of God.

The collage card is a 5 x 7, and it is a bit hard to photograph without getting any glare. Sorry about that. Eventually I want to have around 50-60 cards, each with meaning behind them, so that I can pull one each morning and focus on the meanings and how that can help in my life at the moment.

I claim no copyright on this image, as I cut all the pieces, even the background out of magazines, mostly National Geographics. I only claim the vision.

Thank you so much AmynitaKing! I so agree about NatGeo, best magazine for collages hands down! My library sales them for 10cents a copy! And recently they gave me 4 huge boxes full for $20.00! So I ended up with over 400 of them! Yipeee!

Ah nice one :) i managed to get a bunch of old ones someone had left at my mums house, the image quality (and quantity) is second to none, especially the older ones with the natural graininess mmm. i'll stop salivating over natgeos now haha
