Bandon Beach,Oregon

This is a view of "Rock Face". Local legend has it that the face is that of a young Native American girl. She wandered down to the ocean against her Elders warnings, as she followed her kittens. An evil sea witch attacked her, and turned her to stone, and as she was turning to stone she would not look back at the witch and turned her head upword to the sky, and that is how her face is captured. You can't see it well in this photo, but the girls face is so easily seen, it is the biggest rock out in the water, toward the left. Those smaller rocks are her drowned kittens, sad I know! But the legend teaches a lesson to listen to our elders. My husband and I just got back from a week long GORGEOUS vacation camping, traveling, exploring, crabbing, shopping, and hiking the Oregon coast
